English 104 is a basic English course for learners of a second language at the university level. Classes will be given at the school of Business Administration, building A, first floor, room 210. We will be meeting on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:20 to 12:00 a.m. the course has four hours. The textbook assigned for this course is Touchstone 1A Student Book (Michael McCarthy, Jeanne MacCarten and Helen Sandiford, 2008, Cambridge Univesity Press), and we will also use its audio CD and video.
This course has been designed to help students acquire the basic patterns of the English language through basic grammar, vocabulary and conversation. There will be intensive practice in order to obtain and or improve their speaking, reading, listening and writing basic skills. There will be quizzes, speeches, dialogues and several assignments in order to achieve this goal. Besides, at the end of the course there will be a final exam.
